The concept

Every scholar names their teachers. Name yours.

Sanad is built on the oldest idea in the faculty: knowledge arrives through a chain of people. A paper chain runs the length of the hall, and every graduate adds a link with their own name and the name of the teacher who shaped them most. At one end sit the professors, at the other the year below, and the day closes with each graduate given a certificate in the style of an ijazah — their name, their teachers, their year.

It's for students of Usul al-Din, Islamic studies, da'wa and Quranic sciences at Al-Azhar and beyond, who've spent four years learning who said what, and from whom. The palette is ink indigo, paper cream and one sage green for the links of the chain.

Identity

A link and a name line.

A certificate lockup — name, taught by, year, faculty — in Arabic first and English second, with the department code on the certificate number. Supplied editable. Flat type and colour only: no geometric patterns, no arabesques.

A single chain link per graduate and a four-page guide to the one rule: green is the chain and nothing else.
