The concept

Four years of the language. Write the last verse.

Last Verse stages the day as a poetry evening. Each graduate contributes one bayt to a qasida about the cohort, the verses hang on long banners down the hall in the order they'll be read, and the evening ends with the whole poem recited by the class.

It's for Arabic language and literature students — Dar El Ulum, Adab and Al-Alsun alike — who will count the metre. The palette is ink brown, paper cream and one gold for the rhyme.

Identity

A verse-card system in Arabic — bayt, poet, metre, rhyme — supplied editable with outlined copies, one per graduate.

A bayt number per person and a four-page guide on the one rule: gold marks the rhyme, and only the rhyme.

Arabic line بيت القصيد means “the verse that matters most”
