The concept

You learned to see inside things. Put the cohort on the lightbox.

Clear Film stages the day in a dark reading room. Lightboxes line the wall, each graduate's 'film' is a printed transparency of their four years, the report is dictated aloud, and the room lights come up when the last film is read.

It's for radiology and imaging students, who spend a lot of time in the dark looking carefully. The palette is film black, lightbox white and one radiation yellow.

A film number per person and a four-page guide on the one rule: yellow is the warning sign, never decoration.

Faces lit from the front by the films is the whole look, so the list shoots in the dark: a hand clipping a film, someone reading one close up, the lights coming back on.

A grade preset that keeps backlit faces from going blue.

One 45-second edit anybody can cut on a phone.

Films clipped on one by one, the room getting brighter with each.

Film-number titles as transparent PNGs, plus a guide to shooting in low light on a phone.
