Armature
Wire, plaster, four years, one figure.
The class builds one piece together. An armature of wire on a plinth, a strip of plaster from every graduate, and a casting of everyone's hand pressed into the base.

The concept
Four years of making things stand up. Make one together.
Armature is a day spent building a single sculpture as a class. A wire armature waits on a plinth in the middle of the hall; each graduate adds a strip of plaster bandage, with their name written on the inside before it goes on, so the finished figure holds every name where nobody can read them. Around the room, each graduate's own work stands on a plinth with a museum label.
It's for sculpture students with plaster in their hair since first year. The palette is graphite, plaster white and one terracotta for the plinth labels.

Identity
A museum label and a catalogue number.
A label lockup — title, artist, medium, year — in Arabic and English, with the department code as the collection mark. Supplied editable.
A catalogue number per graduate and a four-page guide to the one rule: terracotta is for labels and the year, nothing else.
